"Close your eyes and pretend it's all a bad dream. That's how I get by."
During that scene Jack is negotiating with Beckett about Davy Jones' heart. Jack wanted it to repay a debt but now he wants it to keep it. Beckett on the other hand is using it as leverage to get information out of Jack.
This quote really connects with me because Jack Sparrow doesn't care all that much about the bad things in his life. If something bad did happen to him then he would make the situation as humorous as he possibly could. I think that's a great way to live life.
I remember watching the movie, hearing that and then applying it to my life. I still recall when I lost my dog and I cried a lot. It was late and we still hadn't found her. I went to sleep and I pretended like it was a bad dream. In the morning someone returned her and I felt really happy.
I love how much you connect to the quote, although it is sad it is a good example.
ReplyDeleteI love this connection as it is personal with your life and helps me as a reader understand the quote better. ;)
ReplyDeleteI like your background as well.

I think you did a really good job with the quote and I can relate with the quote as well.
ReplyDeleteI liked your personal connection in the third paragraph, and I think it's something that all people could relate to. Regardless of who you are, we've all been faced with something that made us feel down, whether it be loss in sports, a family problem, or even losing your dog. When these problems come we can apply the quote to our lives.
ReplyDeleteI really like how you put your own personal experience of applying this quote to your life.
ReplyDeleteQuite the rollercoaster there. "I lost my dog". By that I thought you meant your dog went kaput. No more dog. Then you came up with the happy ending.
ReplyDeleteI really find it unique that you took your quote and defined it literally and applied it your life. I find that is a view of a realist and like how you understand the affects of losing a dog. (Nice Background). In total your quote has affected me as well. :)
ReplyDeleteI love that your quote came from a movie most (if not all) of us have seen - it allowed us to connect with you a bit more!
